Israel’s Bar-Ilan University is training Yazidi women leaders to help their community recover from PTSD.
6,500 Yazidi women and children were kidnapped by ISIS since 2014.
Many managed to escape or were liberated, but up to 3,000 are still missing.
Many of these survivors have no access to mental health resources.
A group of Yazidi women leaders recently received training from Israel’s Bar-Ilan University, so that they can go back home with the skills for treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in the larger community.
