With leaders from all over the world arriving in Israel for the World Holocaust Forum last week, Israeli cyber defense faced an unprecedented threat.

Entities and individuals in Iran, China, North Korea, and Poland mounted around 800 cyber attacks attempting to penetrate air traffic computers when world leaders converged on Israel last week for the World Holocaust Forum in honor of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

These hackers wanted to disrupt flight paths and cause untold harm and chaos on a day designed to honor the triumph of good over evil.

But these nefarious hackers failed thanks to Israel’s national cyber security authority, which operates under the auspices of the Prime Minister’s Office.
