Israeli troops operating in southern Lebanon this week discovered and sealed a large Hezbollah tunnel concealed beneath a cemetery, the military reported.

Following intelligence on the location, the elite Shaldag unit and ground forces of the 36th Division raided the one-kilometer-long tunnel, situated about 1.5 km from the Israeli border.

The tunnel contained command rooms, sleeping quarters, and weapon depots, and was intended as a staging ground for a planned Hezbollah invasion of Israel. The IDF sealed the tunnel by pumping 4,500 cubic meters of concrete, utilizing hundreds of trucks and cement mixers.
