The Israel Defense Forces announced on Sunday that they had discovered a three-meter tall smuggling tunnel on the Gaza-Egypt border, large enough for vehicle passage.
While the army has previously uncovered numerous tunnels along the Egyptian border, it did not clarify whether these were connected to the newly discovered tunnel.
This latest find, uncovered by combat engineers from the elite Yahalom unit, is part of Israel’s ongoing efforts to curb weapons smuggling from Egypt to Hamas and other terror groups in Gaza.
