Israel is well known for its abundance of juicy citrus fruits in many delicious varieties. Much of that success is due to the Volcani Agriculture Institute, a world leader in farming technology.

With an economy that relied primarily on agriculture, the early years of the State of Israel were filled with the struggle of trying to make the desert bloom.

In 1975, the Volcani Agriculture Institute was launched near Tel Aviv, helping the Jewish state in its transition from an agricultural economy to industry and high-tech. The project was a huge success, and Israel has become world famous not only for its oranges, but also for other citrus varieties!

Watch and see how Israel’s citrus crop tells the story of Zionism through the ages and see what’s in store for the future!
