The outgoing German Chancellor lauded the relationship between Germany and Israel, emphasizing Germany’s commitment to the Jewish state’s security.
Nearly 77 years after the Holocaust, German Chancellor Angela Merkel praised the miraculous relationship between Israel and Germany during her farewell visit to the Jewish state.
“It is really a miracle that such relations could have developed since then..this is a huge achievement that there is this trust between both sides,” Merkel said.
Merkel said the European country has a responsibility to preserve the memory of the Holocaust as survivors die out and stressed Germany’s commitment to Israel’s security.
