While global urbanization has decimated the world’s population of honey bees, which play a crucial role in food production, Israel is doing its part to reverse this trend.

It is estimated that humans would only be able to survive for four years without bees because these creatures’ cross pollination is an essential stage in the production the world’s food supply.

Across the globe, the amount of nectar flowers and honey bees is declining at an alarming rate, a worrying trend.

With 100,000 trees planted and 110,000 active beehives tended to by 510 beekeepers, Israel is helping to protect against world hunger in the most unexpected way!




World Bee Day 2018

Did you know that If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would have only four years of life left? Today we mark the International #BeeDay in order to raise awareness of the need for bee population, conservation and its importance for the entire ecosystem. MASHAV, Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation, pursues a wide arrange of projects to share the know-how and relevant techniques to help the developing world to make the most of the ecological and economic benefits offered by bees and beekeeping for biodiversity enhancement and livelihood development.
