The Arava Desert is a hot, dry strip of land between the Dead Sea and the Red Sea. How did this inhospitable expanse of desert land become home to over 60% of Israel’s produce exports and host to the annual Arava Agriculture Exhibition?

Thanks to the drip irrigation system, an Israeli invention developed in the 1960’s, the desert truly has come alive in the Arava.
