Israel is the only country in the world where deserts are receding.

Though 60 percent of the land in Israel is desert, it is the only country in the world where barren areas are getting smaller.

Fulfilling first Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion’s promise to “make the desert bloom,” the Jewish state has pioneered technology to combat desertification and grow crops in some of the driest areas of the land.

Even the United Nations has recognized Israel’s expertise in beating desertification.
