Israel’s United Hatzalah volunteer Emergency Medical Service was already training first responders in Sri Lanka and India in January, preparing them for mass-casualty incidents.

Israel has been assisting Sri Lanka prior to Sunday’s attack, having sent its United Hatzalah emergency responder organization to the country in January to prepare them for possible mass-casualty attacks.

Netanyahu said Israelis were ready to assist Sri Lanka on Sunday following a spate of deadly Islamic suicide bombings that morning that killed nearly 300 people, echoing an offer issued earlier that day by Israeli Ambassador to India and Sri Lanka Ron Malka.

In fact, Israel has been assisting Sri Lanka prior to Sunday’s attack, having sent its United Hatzalah emergency responder organization to the country in January to prepare them for possible mass-casualty incidents, including terror attacks.
