Amidst the horrors of the holocaust a few brave souls risked their lives and livelihoods to save as many Jews as they were could. Among them were 36 diplomats from 21 different countries.

A beautiful new memorial now graces the wall of Jerusalem’s Foreign Ministry commemorating the selfless acts of these men and women, many of whom lost their livelihoods and futures when they returned to their home countries.

In a moving address, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his hope that these “Righteous Among The Nations” would not be forgotten and that their memory and lessons would serve as an inspiration to Israel’s young diplomats.
