Grass roots protests demanding freedom and justice in Iran are all Israel’s fault, according to Tehran.

Iranian General Gholamreza Jalali, the chief of Iran’s Civil Defense Organization, recently defended Iran’s tactic of shutting down the internet. This was exposed as a ploy to prevent images and information about the Islamic Republic brutalizing and murdering its own citizens, reports of which trickled out days later.

During an interview with Ofogh TV, Jalali claimed that mass censorship of the internet is necessary in Iran because “Israeli tools influence events in Iran,” citing the Israeli app Waze as a key factor in the protests.

The Iranian people’s demand for freedom is Israel’s fault? Does Jalali even believe his own lies?
