A chemical engineer who’s expecting a child has created a substitute for plastic in order to reduce pollution and help make a better world for future generations.

Israeli chemical engineer Sharon Barak used to work in a plastics company but left her position to solve the problem of plastic pollution.

Every year we produce 300 million tons of plastic, half of which is for one-time use. But it stays in nature for hundreds of years, hurting the environment and causing harm to everyone.

After years of hard work, Barak created a product that looks and feels like plastic but isn’t plastic at all! She has assembled a team in Israel and is working day and night to complete this endeavor.

Watch as she puts her product in the water and it dissolves within minutes, while the water remains drinkable!
