Israel assists Angola’s battle against the effects of an advancing desert.
Israel’s Embassy in Luanda, the capital and largest city in Angola, led an initiative that brought 500 children to plant 1,000 trees to create a green wall between the Namib Desert and the city of Tômbwa, which is under threat of desertification.
Israel’s renowned pinpoint irrigation system was deployed to nourish the saplings.
Angola has been fighting off the devastating effects of desertification, which has affected a large part of the country.
Israel, a territory with desert and semi-arid features, uses high-tech innovation to turn the desert green and possesses the most modern agricultural technology in the world.
