Israel Border Police officers are proud of their work, vigilantly protecting various locations throughout Israel and safeguarding the nation’s citizens.
Visitors to Israel might be surprised to see police officers in bulletproof vests carrying machine guns on the beach or outside kindergartens.
These guards represent a hidden cost, both financially and physically, of the various “peace gestures” that the international community demands of Israel.
Some of these “gestures” require Israel to release terrorist prisoners, dismantle check points, release funds and cede strategic territory, each of which invariably brings the threat of terrorism closer to Israel’s civilian population.
Nevertheless, members of the Israel Border Police carry out their difficult job of protecting the citizenry with joy.
