Just over a month since a pogrom occurred on Amsterdam’s streets, an Israeli song was performed at the city’s Royal Concert Hall.
The song, Avinu Shebashamayim (“Our Father in Heaven”), is a plea to God to protect Israel.
Edited by Nobel Prize-winning writer S.Y. Agnon, it was approved as a prayer for the State of Israel in 1948.
