In a new article in the journal BioSocieties, Bar-Ilan University researchers Drs. Shlomo Guzmen-Carmeli and David A. Rier show how public pressure utilizing crowdsourcing, citizen science, and entrepreneurial activism have turned a drug deemed unprofitable into a potential treatment for the disease.
