This model and mayor are using technology and old-fashioned elbow grease to change the way young Israelis give back to their communities.

Former Vogue cover model Michaela Bercu and Yerhuam mayor Tal Ohana “were on a mission to help their communities with volunteer work and joined forces ahead of International Women’s Day,” The Medial Line recently reported.

The two powerhouse Israeli women used a mobile app Bercu helped develop called Tribu, which is working to become the Airbnb or Uber of volunteering.

Their inspiring work could serve as a model for communities around the world.
