Israel’s Chief Rabbi David Lau joined the Poway, California community at a special ceremony marking the end of the first thirty days of mourning for Lori Gilbert-Kaye, murdered when a shooter opened fire in the Chabad of Poway synagogue on April 27.

After the attack, the perpetrator said he shot up the synagogue “because the Jewish people are destroying the white race.”

During the ceremony, the Chief Rabbi offered words of encouragement. The synagogue’s Rabbi, Yisroel Goldstein, who lost a finger in the attack, was presented with a gift.
