Israel is home to some of the Middle East’s most beautiful waterfalls, providing lush oases in a land that is mostly desert.

Winter in Israel means rain, cooler temperatures, and even snowfall in areas such as Mount Hermon, where Israelis hit the slopes during certain portions of the year.

While Israel is 60 percent desert, the precipitation that falls during the winter leaves the Holy Land’s waterfalls teeming with fresh ice cold water as springtime beckons.
