The president of the Lebanese Syriac Union Party, Ibrahim Mrad, delivered a bold call for Lebanon to break free from cycles of violence and embrace a culture of peace.

He argued that Lebanon’s children should not inherit the burden of war, urging the nation to adopt neutrality and forge its own path as it once did in its golden era as the “Switzerland of the East.”

Challenging the region’s status quo, he supported direct peace agreements, including with Israel, declaring that Lebanon should no longer serve as a scapegoat for conflicts orchestrated by foreign powers.
