In his greeting to world Jewry on the eve of the Jewish New Year, Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu stressed that Rosh Hashana is a time for both celebration and reflection.

Jews around the world must remain hopeful and pursue justice and peace, he said.

Referring to the passing last week of Shimon Peres, the Israeli leader said that the former president would have wanted Israelis and Jews to look back with pride and look forward with hope.
