The excavation revealed original stone slabs used pave the area around the buildings.
“Impressive new sections of one of the most magnificent public buildings uncovered from the Second Temple period in Jerusalem was opened to public visits, days before Israel will mark Tisha B’Av, the day of mourning for the destruction of the two Temples,” TPS reported on Thursday.
Charles Warren discovered a portion of the structure in the 19th century, with other archaeologists making similar discoveries in the 20th century.
The excavation is complete and the structures are being opened to the public!
