Iran generally blames Israel for such attacks, but a group called Gonjeshke Darande claimed responsibility for a recent incident that shuttered a steel factory.
On Monday, one of Iran’s largest steel companies announced that a cyberattack had forced it to suspend operations. This appears to be one of the largest cyberattacks against the nation’s vital industrial sector.
Iran generally blames Israel for such attacks, but a group by the name Gonjeshke Darande claimed responsibility for the incident and posted a statement along with a video of the attack online.
The organization claims that Iran’s Basij (volunteer) forces and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) are connected to the industry.
