The Likud party introduced its first Muslim Arab-Israeli candidate, providing a strong reminder that Israel is a diverse, inclusive, and democratic society.

Dima Tayeh is running for a seat in the Knesset as a member of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party.

As a Muslim Arab-Israeli, she would like to serve in the legislature to help fight crime in her community and work for a better future for all Israelis, regardless of their religion.

According to Tayeh, the existing Arab parties in the Knesset ignore their own communities, using the Israeli parliament as a soapbox to push their own agendas. She has high hopes for her political future and looks forward to working with the prime minister.
