Greeting the new US ambassador, Netanyahu said he looks forward to working together with the Trump administration and appreciates the envoy’s visit to the Western Wall immediately upon his arrival.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday welcomed David Friedman, the new US ambassador to Israel, who arrived at Ben-Gurion Airport the previous day.

“I come here from a meeting with US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman,” Netanyahu stated afterwards in the central city of Lod, at the signing of a roof agreement.

“We had a very good meeting,” he said. “We discussed the friendship between the two countries and I told him that the US Embassy – like all embassies – should be moved to Jerusalem.”

Friedman’s first stop in the Holy Land upon his arrival Monday was the Western Wall, which Netanyahu said was deeply appreciated by the people of Israel.
