“In every generation, our enemies rise up against us,” Netanyahu said last year, quoting the Haggadah. But this year a different type of enemy, namely COVID-19, is attacking the entire world. We will defeat it!
In an optimistic message to the People of Israel on the eve of Passover 2019, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the holiday touches the roots of our national identity, when the Jewish people began its journey from Egypt to Zion with a vision of freedom and liberty.
Throughout the centuries and the difficult exile, Jews have held on to their hope, and that hope became reality, with Israel rising to become a global power, he noted.
“In every generation, our enemies rise up against us,” he said, quoting the Haggadah, but now we have the IDF and the Israeli security forces – “and, of course, God.”
Watch and listen to the Israeli leader’s proud holiday message!
Each year at the Seder table, I am deeply moved. Passover touches upon the roots of our national identity. Thousands of years ago we raised the banner of freedom and liberty. We went from slavery to freedom, from subjugation to independence.
