Yosef Avi Yair Engel, grandfather of Ofir Engel, a released hostage, recounts to i24 how October 7th triggered memories of what his parents endured during the Holocaust.
He said, “The 7th of October was like the Shoah because just as in the Holocaust, there was a nation that wanted to kill all the Jews in the world.”
He added that during the initial hours of the Hamas onslaught, “There was no army, there was no land to protect them.”
