Netanyahu thanked Haley and Trump for their courage to stand against the hostile UN in defense of Jerusalem, the capital of Israel.
US ambassador Nikki Haley on Monday vetoed a UN resolution calling for the withdrawal of President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, saying it was “an insult which will not be forgotten.”
The US will not be told by any country where it can put its embassy, she asserted.
“On Chanukah, you spoke like a Maccabi. You lit a candle of truth,” Netanyahu said in a statement of appreciation to the US administration for their courage to take a stand against the Security Council’s anti-Israel bias.
