Israeli Air Force jets launched strikes on Houthi terrorist targets in Yemen on Saturday, following a lethal drone attack by the Iran-backed group in Tel Aviv the previous day, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed.

“From the outset of the conflict, I made it clear that Israel would retaliate against anyone who attacks us,” Netanyahu stated in public remarks on Saturday night. “Consequently, earlier today, I convened the Security Cabinet and sought their support for my proposal to target the Houthi positions in Yemen.”

The strikes, which Israel reported as hitting several “military targets” in the port city of Hodeidah, seem to be the first on Yemeni soil since the Houthis allied with Hamas against Israel in October.
