The PA snatched a massive collection of antiquities collected by Anwar Zre’ir, who has spent his life researching these artifacts.
Eighty-year-old Anwar Zre’ir is the latest victim of systematic policy of antiquities theft and destruction launched by the Palestinian Authority.
The 80-year-old Arab man has spent half a century amassing an impressive collection of thousands of artifacts, which the PA confiscated and, he fears, will sell, reported TPS.
Zre’ir’s associates told TPS they believe it is part of a PA campaign to collect pre-State of Israel artifacts to “to hide evidence of the existence of a political Jewish entity prior to modern Israel.” The PA recently changed its rules to “legalize” this scandalous campaign, which Israeli advocacy group Shomrim Al Hanetzach (‘Guarding Eternity’ in Hebrew) termed “declaring war on history.”
