Is there any hope that the next generation will be more interested in peace? With Palestinian schools teaching young children to hate and to kill Jews, the outlook is bleak indeed.
Every time peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority stall, Israel is blamed. She is usually made out in the media as the aggressor. Labeled as occupiers, murderers, obstacles to peace and racists, Israel – and not the PA – is consistently taken to task for war mongering.
After the most recent attack on a Jerusalem synagogue that resulted in five deaths and several severe injuries, many Jewish communities began questioning the employment of Arabs in their vicinity from the point of view of safety. In an effort to quell a grassroots effort to expel Arabs from these neighborhoods, the government reiterated Israel’s Equal Employment laws, and Minister of Economy Naftali Bennett went so far as to state publicly that 99 percent of Arabs in Israel are loyal citizens.
Most Israelis want to believe that the terrorists and their supporters make up a small minority of the Palestinians. Yet a survey conducted by the University of Haifa several years ago shows that 66 percent of Arabs deny the existence of a Jewish state and fully 38 percent deny that the Holocaust ever happened.
Will it ever end? Is there any hope that the next generation will be more interested in peace? With Palestinian schools teaching young children to hate and how to kill Jews, the outlook is bleak indeed. Watch the videos below and see how the culture of hate is being passed from one generation to the next.
In the face of such culturally embedded hatred, how can Israel possibly hope for peace?
