The Hefer Valley in central Israel combines agriculture, nature and tourism. One of its highlights is the bird-watching experience.

Israel lies at the heart of one of the world’s largest bird migration routes.

Twice a year, hundreds of millions of birds pass through the region on their way to and from their Eurasian breeding grounds.

The Hefer Valley – in Hebrew, Emek Hefer – includes the reservoir established by KKL-Jewish National Fund, which collects rainwater that benefits local farmers and attracts a variety of waterfowl and other birdlife.

The entire site is surrounded by the valley’s green fields and citrus groves.
