Israel honored Pfizer chief Albert Bourla at Independence Day celebrations on Wednesday night.
On Wednesday evening, Israeli transitioned from solemn Memorial Day observances to exuberant Independence Day celebrations.
As part of the Independence Day events, Israel honored chief executive of international drug maker Pfizer, Albert Bourla, who helped the country execute one of the world’s most successful COVID-19 vaccination campaigns.
“Together we are demonstrating that through mass vaccination we can defeat the COVID-19 pandemic and save lives,” said Bourla, whose parents survived the Holocaust. “We have shown that there is a path back to normal, and that definitely is something the entire world can celebrate,” Bourla added.
