The story of Purim, set in ancient Persia, is about a miraculous change in fortune for the entire Jewish People, who were sentenced to death and then saved through the actions of Mordechai and Queen Esther.
The story is relevant today, explains Rabbi Yehoshua Landau.
Just as the Jewish people, suddenly and unexpectedly, went from anguish to rejoicing, so, too, a person’s destiny could change completely.
