An Israeli company’s autonomous vehicle recently navigated the streets of Jerusalem, providing a glimpse at the future of self-driving cars.

Jerusalem-based Mobileye, which Intel acquired in 2017 for $15.3 billion, was the belle of the ball this week at the 2020 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, where the groundbreaking company debuted remarkable footage of its self-driving car technology.

The video shows the vehicle navigating real streets with actual traffic, capable of recognizing pedestrians and other cars.

Mobileye’s technology relies on camera sensors, not radar, to create 3D models that pick up small details, creating a more accurate and safer product.
