Grabbing a rare opportunity to do so, Jews worshiped at the tombs of Isaac and Rebecca in Hebron during Sukkot.
In a peace overture to the Palestinian Authority, Israel gave the Waqf (Islamic charitable trust) control of 81% of the building surrounding the tombs of the Jewish patriarchs and matriarchs in Hebron as part of the 1996 Wye River Accords.
The agreement reserved just 10 days a year for Jews to have access to the large hall containing the tombs of Isaac and his wife Rebecca.
Each of those days holds special significance in Judaism. One is the Shabbat during which the Torah portion of “Chayei Sarah” is read, which details the death of Abraham’s wife Sarah and the purchase by Abraham of the land on which the caves are situated.
Other days include the time of the Sukkot festival, or the Feast of Tabernacles.
In this video, Jews can be seen taking advantage of this time to pray at the grave sites of these holy people.

Specialized, state-of-the-art, compact, all-terrain ATVs that maneuver in tight spaces are Israel’s “secret weapon,” designed to pursue and capture terrorists BEFORE they attack. Life-saving ATVs are desperately needed to protect communities throughout Israel. Please donate generously!
