General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan said this could happen even during the Sudanese government’s transitional phase.
Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council, said in a recent interview that he does not want to be the President of Sudan once the government’s transitional period ends.
But he said that Sudan intends to have full diplomatic ties with Israel .
The establishment of such relations, including exchanging ambassadors with Israel, is a step that needs to be approved by Sudan’s legislative council, he said.
In January 2021 Sudan and the US signed the Abraham Accords, normalizing relations between Israel and some Muslim countries.
