Many Israelis have suffered profound loss but nonetheless continue to do good during their lives, said the mother of teenage terror victim Naftali Fraenkel.

The mothers of three Israeli youths who were kidnapped and murdered by Palestinian Arab terrorists in 2014 were chosen take part in this year’s torchlighting ceremony marking Israel’s Independence Day. They have been recognized for their activism in promoting Jewish unity.

Arutz Sheva spoke to Racheli Fraenkel, one of the bereaved mothers, who said the honor is not for them, but for the wonderful nation of Israel that has stood together in difficult times.

Discussing the Israeli spirit, she said that many others have also suffered loss and nonetheless chose to do good with their lives.
