A hidden gem inside the dingy Tel Aviv bus station is keeping Yiddish culture alive – for the time being.

When you think about the Tel Aviv bus station, you usually think about an old and decrepit building.

However, hidden inside the dingy bus station, a Yiddish library and culture center is giving new life to the ‘mama lashon’ – mother tongue.

Run by actor and Yiddish expert Mendy Cahan, the library, called Yiddish Yung, has been ordered to shut down as the bus station is set to be demolished.
