Meet Ravid Kahalani, songwriter and lead singer of the popular Israeli band ‘Yemen Blues.’

With aliyah (immigration to Israel) from all corners of the world over the past several decades, the Jewish state has absorbed the artistic traditions and foods of many countries, including, of course, the diverse, regional Arabic cultures.

The first wave of aliyah from Yemen began in 1881. There are approximately 400,000 Jews from Yemen, including their descendants, residing in Israel.

In recent years, appreciation for sephardi culture increased dramatically.

Yemen Blues is an enormously talented band that has become popular in Israel and around the world.

Here’s an opportunity to meet Ravid Kahalani, songwriter and lead singer of Yemen Blues, and to get a taste of their exciting music.
