This is just one of many stories about the persecution that Jews have suffered in Arab countries.

As a young boy in Iraq, Edwin Shuker embarked on a difficult mission with his family to leave the country.

In the 1950s, almost all of Iraq’s Jews, 150,000 people, fled. It spelled the end of a thousands-year-strong community.

Those who remained lived with increased restrictions and persecution under Saddam Hussein’s regime.

This is only one such story about the end of Jewish life in Iraq.
