General Martin Dempsey, U.S. chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, participated in a discussion at the Carnegie Council for Ethics on Nov. 6, 2014. Asked to assess the ethical conduct of the IDF during Operation Protective Edge, he said:
“In this kind of conflict, when you are held to a standard your enemy is not held to, you’re going to be criticized.”
