Watch the beautiful and inspiring repentance prayers recited at the Western Wall this year as the Jewish people prepare for the Yom Kippur holiday.

Every year, Jews recite selichot, prayers for forgiveness, although there are differences in tradition.

Sephardic Jews begin reciting selichot at the start of the Hebrew month of Elul. Ashkenazic Jews start at the end of the Sabbath that precedes Rosh Hashana. The prayers are said throughout the Ten Days of Repentance and on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year in Judaism.
