In footage shared by Yishai Fleisher, an IDF soldier proudly planted a tree in Gaza on the occasion of Tu Beshvat, the Jewish “New Year for Trees.”
“To fulfill the mitzvah [Commandment] to settle the Land of Israel, in the name of all of Israel and all the hostages – may they return home quickly and in peace – we have the merit to fulfill the Commandment in this Holy Land,” he said before placing the tree and kissing the ground.
