During a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago resort on Monday, President-elect Trump responded to a reporter who asked him whether he was “entertaining the idea of preemptive strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities.”
“I can’t tell you that,” Trump said. “Why would I say that? Can you imagine if I said ‘yes’ or ‘no’? You’d say, ‘That was strange that he answered that question.'”
“Is that a serious question? How could I answer a question like that?”
Pressed further on whether he would support Israeli strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, Trump reiterated, “How could I tell you a thing like that now? You don’t talk about that before something may or may not happen.”
“It’s just not something I would ever answer, having to do with there or any other place in the world.”
