US President Donald Trump sent shock waves through the Middle East today when he told the world, at a press conference with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, that he “could live” without a Palestinian state.
“Today I have the honor of welcoming my friend Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House,” said Trump, while opening up his remarks.
“With his visit, the United States reaffirms our unbreakable bond with our cherished ally, Israel.”
Trump said that he is “looking at two-state and one-state, and I like the one that both parties like.”
He stressed that such an agreement would necessitate both Israel and the Palestinians each making compromises.
