Obama said he would always have Israel’s back, but did he mean it would be to stab them?
Outgoing US President Barack Obama will be remembered as an “appalling” leader when it comes to foreign policy, said prominent Harvard law professor emeritus, attorney and author Alan Dershowitz.
By allowing the UN Security Council to vote for a resolution delegitimizing Israeli communities in eastern Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, Obama has betrayed the Jewish state, Dershowitz affirmed.
Obama had told Dershowitz he would always have Israel’s back, he continued, adding that he “didn’t realize what [Obama] meant is that he would have their back to stab them.”
According to Dershowitz, the question is: Will the peace process now end as a result of the vote, or is there a “glimmer of hope” with the election of Donald Trump?
