[WEBINAR] Jewish Identity: What Helps to Keep Jews Feeling ‘Jewish’?

The weekly Torah portion of “Shemot” (Exodus 1:1 -6:1) begins with the story of the Jews’ descent into slavery in Egypt.

The meaning of the word “Shemot” is “names.” One of the great merits the Jewish people had – that led to their redemption – was maintaining their Jewish identity under extremely difficult conditions.

According to Jewish tradition, the Jews in Egypt “did not change their names, their language or their style of dress.”

On that note, this webinar will focus on Jewish identity!

Rabbi Enkin presents a class on Jewish names, Jewish dress, Jewish languages and other trimmings and that helped keep Jews identifying as ‘Jewish’ throughout the exile.
