In the weekly Torah portion of “Teruma” (Exodus 25:1-27:19) we learn about the construction of the Mishkan, also known as the Tabernacle.

The Mishkan was the first synagogue of the Jewish people. It was portable and accompanied them during their 40 years of wandering in the desert.

It was the prototype for the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, and ultimately, for all synagogues.

What are the different components in a synagogue sanctuary? How are Ashkenazi synagogues different from Sefardic synagogues? What are synagogues used for in addition to prayer? Is a synagogue truly needed or can we pray anywhere?

In this webinar, Rabbi Enkin reveals exciting details about the holy Mishkan and teaches you all about modern day synagogues.
